About

lotte-headWelcome to my blog! I’m Lotte, a Teacher Librarian and eLearning Facilitator at a Brisbane State School (in Australia). I love books and all things technology! I am a lifelong learner and am well on my way through my quest to become a 21st century librarian.

This blog is a record of my journey through the Units that I complete as part of my Master of Education (Teacher Librarianship) through Queensland University of Technology (QUT).

My twitter name is @notjustaTL and I love making new twitter friends from far and wide! It is an exciting community of learners and I regularly connect with teachers, ICT/digital technology experts and Teacher Librarians from all over the world.

I chose the name notjustaTL, because at the beginning of my journey as a Teacher Librarian, I found myself describing myself as “just a librarian” and I needed to keep reminding myself that Teacher Librarians serve a crucial role in the school and community and what we do is extremely valuable. If the stats are to be believed, we  are a dying breed, so we must look at ways to market ourselves and the important work that we do in a more visible way, in order to prevent our skills and profession being devalued and simply disappearing!
